The HC-150 transformer Core Grounding Current Tester is meticulously designed and manufactured specifically for on-site, online testing of transformer core grounding currents, leakage currents, frequencies, and waveforms within power systems. The device consists of a main unit, a current clamp, data software, communication cables, and other components. Power transformers are the most critical electrical equipment within a power system; should a fault occur during operation, it can lead to severe consequences for the entire system. Under normal operating conditions, a transformer core is grounded at a single point. However, if two or more points become grounded simultaneously, a current loop forms between the core and the earth. This loop can generate currents reaching up to several tens of amperes, potentially causing localized overheating—or even burnout—of the transformer core. This instrument enables the prompt detection of latent transformer faults, serving as an essential tool for ensuring the safe operation and proper maintenance of transformers. It is primarily utilized in substations and power plants for conducting leakage current tests on the cores and clamping structures of electrical equipment such as transformers and reactors. ◆ Main Unit: Equipped with a high-speed microprocessor and a 3.5-inch color LCD screen capable of displaying the magnitude and waveform of the measured current in real-time. It employs technologies such as FFT transformation and digital filtering to ensure superior accuracy of test data. Features include settable alarm thresholds and alarm indication functions, date and time settings, an automatic power-off function, and a specimen ID configuration capability. It is capable of storing up to 200 sets of data and waveforms.
◆ Current Clamp: Constructed from a special alloy and utilizing the latest magnetic shielding technology, the clamp minimizes the influence of external magnetic fields and boasts strong anti-interference capabilities, thereby ensuring high precision, stability, and reliability for continuous, long-term measurements. The clamp jaw features an inner aperture of 88mm × 88mm, capable of clamping cables or ground wires with a diameter of up to φ88mm, or flat steel ground strips measuring up to 105mm × 4mm. Its portable, clamp-style design allows for non-contact measurement—eliminating the need to disconnect the circuit under test—making the process both safe and rapid.
